Grass Roots Movement

If you squint you'll see the Capital behind me

I came all the way to Washington DC because I heard there were grassroots movements going on here. It’s hard to find any kind of grass in the middle of winter so I thought this was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Happy Year of the Dragon

They just finished the week long New Year celebration here in New York’s China Town. You can see all the details on China Town’s webpage.

Goodbye Year of the Rabbit…it’s time to release my inner dragon. Watch out world!

“Because it’s Cold Outside” Giveaway

It’s cold and since they don’t make Ugg Boots in my size I will be staying in today. I thought it would be fun to give away one of my very own Baxter Bunny books. It’s a book I wrote and published myself on Lulu.com. It’s a sample book that I sent to publishers so they could learn all about my mad cuteness skills. I have to say, I am pretty cute in print and I think you will love my little book.

If you leave a comment on my Facebook page or right here on my blog you will be entered in the giveaway. If you’re not already a friend on  Facebook go ahead and add me if you like. You can also subscribe to my blog by putting your email in the box on the right hand side of this page.

For my Twitter friends you can tweet this blog or reply to @thebaxterbunny on Twitter and you will be entered!

I wish I had a book to give every one of my friends but since I don’t yet have a publisher I can’t do that. Who knows maybe I’ll get one by giving away a book…that would be pretty cool if that happened. I do believe in magical things happening, especially around the New Year on cold days.

I will pick a name at 8pm Eastern time tonight January 4th.

I’m sure this book will help you feel all warm inside when it’s so cold outside.

Good Luck!

Buyer Beware

People get all sentimental around the holidays and they become more susceptible to Retail Scams.  I don’t want that to happen to my readers so I did a little research on toys. I am sure everyone wants a Baxter Bunny for Christmas so I looked it up on Google and I was horrified to find a giant white bunny that they are trying to pass as Baxter!

Impostor!

Look at that guy! He is like 5 feet tall! I think most of the readers here know that I am only 13 inches tall (including ears). I am not white, and look at the price:  $100 !

Don’t be fooled by impostor Baxter Bunnies.

I suggested you stick with tried and true toys that you can get a lot of use from. I just read this great article from GeekDad at Wired Magazine that has the best suggestions for your Christmas shopping list.

Geekdad suggests that  a stick, string, a box, a cardboard tube and dirt are the best toys and I would have to add that they also make great gifts. Just think of all the fun you can have with a stick; kids can pretend like they’re on hikes and stuff.

Read why these simple items make great toys for kids:

The Best Toys of all Time

playing in the dirt

The cardboard tube is really fun as well, you can pretend that it’s a megaphone and yell positive things to people in Central Park or at your local shopping mall.

What would you do with a box if you got one for Christmas?

The Shape I’m In

I’ve decided to get in shape now, before the holiday, so I won’t have to make a New Year’s resolution. The thing is, I’m not really sure what they mean by getting “in shape.” Read the rest of this entry »

Unlikely Friends

Have you heard of the book Unlikely Friendships by Jennifer Holland? I’ve been seeing it all around the bookstores and I thought I would share my own story about a very unusual encounter. Her name is Linda Luci. It’s a little bit of a love story…Sigh. Read the rest of this entry »
